Natural Vitamin C for Skin

What Works, What Doesn't, and What Really Makes a Difference
When you think of vitamin C in skincare, you're likely thinking of the serums that repeatedly appear on social media—almost all promising radiance and youthfulness. And yes, vitamin C is indeed a powerful ingredient. But... there are nuances that make all the difference.
Just as there is a distinction between freshly squeezed natural juice and an industrial orange-flavored powder, there are also significant differences between natural vitamin C—present in plant extracts—and isolated vitamin C, used in many conventional formulas.
Why is Vitamin C Essential for Skin?
Vitamin C has real and proven benefits in cosmetics:
1- Improves the luminosity and appearance of tired skin
2- Stimulates natural collagen production
3- Provides antioxidant protection against sun, pollution and environmental stress
4- Helps to even out skin tone and reduce blemishes
It's a key ingredient for maintaining healthy, youthful-looking, and balanced skin. But its effectiveness depends on how it's used.
Not All Vitamin C is Created Equal...
At LUR, we chose not to use isolated ascorbic acid—a synthetic form of vitamin C often found in cosmetic products. While effective in certain contexts, this form is unstable, oxidizes easily, and can cause sensitivity, especially in reactive skin.
We opted for natural sources of vitamin C, such as fruit and plant extracts rich in antioxidant compounds. Besides being more stable, these ingredients provide a complete set of nutrients that work in a more compatible way with the skin.
Our Approach: Vitamin C from Plant Sources
Instead of isolating the vitamin C molecule, we use ingredients naturally rich in this compound and other complementary antioxidants:
🍇 Grape
🍊 Pomegranate
🍏 Goji
🫐 Acai
🌸 Rosehip
🍑 Damascus
🥭 Mango
These ingredients not only provide natural vitamin C, but also contain flavonoids, polyphenols, and other elements that enhance results and skin tolerance.

The skin recognizes and responds better to ingredients that come from complete, natural, and biocompatible sources. The difference between isolated vitamin C and one found in plant extracts can significantly affect the results and tolerance of the formula.
At LUR, we develop products with plant-based ingredients that are effective, safe, and offer real benefits for the skin—without resorting to artificial or unstable solutions.
We work with nature, not shortcuts, and we don't follow trends, we follow the truth!
